Thursday – Adult sessions & children by invitation only – 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm

Friday - Under 16’s – 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm

We do hope you will enjoy Karate and if after your first 4 weeks you do continue, you will be required to wear an Official Karate outfit called a “Gi”. These can be purchased from most High Street Sports shops or you can purchase one from the Club, please speak to an Instructor. In any event please check before you buy - the suit needs to be specifically a White Karate “Gi”

You will also be required to purchase a Licence - forms can be purchased from the Club. The Licence is your insurance  and part of a “code of conduct”. The purpose of this code is to discipline and self control., with karate comes responsibility and we require students to agree that they would only use their karate skills in defence of themselves, family and friends.

People who wish to learn karate in order to enhance fighting skills as the school bully or to cause trouble on a night out are not welcome at our club.

We require you to use a “Gum Shield” for all sparring. Again these can be purchased from the Club.

Head Guards and Hand Mitts can be purchased at a later date if you wish, though the Club does have some equipment to use during training sessions.

Some of our rules:

· No shoes or socks may be worn on the practice floor (we practice in bare feet).

· No jewellery (including rings, watches and necklaces) may be worn during practice. This is also primarily for safety reasons.

· No talking during class. Raise your hand if you have a question/comment.

· Students may not enter or leave class without an instructor's permission. If you are late, you must wait at the side until you are acknowledged to enter class. If you wish to leave for any reason, you must raise your hand first.
